Published on: 13th February, 2020 Rio Tinto – Cape Lambert A High Density Ore Assessment

Onyx Projects has been requested by Rio Tinto to undertake an engineering assessment of the Cape Lambert A train unloading to shiploading infrastructure to accept higher density ores than are currently being handled at the facility and exceed the previous design requirements. The engineering assessment includes a review of all mechanical equipment and structures from Car Dumper 2 through to the shiploaders and wharf infrastructure. The review will cover an assessment of the following:

• conveyors and their support structures

• conveyors drives

• apron feeder drives and components

• stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders

• chutes and bins using DEM techniques

• transfer stations

• hoppers and their support structure

• jetty structure

• process and control systems
