Sedgman Onyx is a privately owned company established in 2007. Its four founding directors have a combined experience of more than 100 years delivering greenfield and brownfield projects in mining and minerals processing, iron and steel, petrochemicals, oil refining, chemicals, manufacturing and water treatment facilities in Asia, Australasia, Europe, North America and South America.
This experience has been gained in both operating and engineering/construction company environments.

Ian Beaumont
Managing Director

Ian is a chartered mechanical engineer with over 25 years of experience gained in the mining, petrochemical, water, waste treatment, and iron and steel industries. Ian’s roles and responsibilities have included company director, project management, management of feasibility studies, engineering management, equipment specification/procurement and the supervision of construction and commissioning.
Rob McGregor
Director
MEng (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), MIEAust CPEng
Rob is a chartered control systems engineer with over 25 years of experience, including 10 years site based brownfield project and operations experience on major petrochemical and oil refining facilities in the UK and Europe. Rob has held a number of positions including director, project manager, lead engineer on a variety of projects across the energy, petrochemical, Oil & Gas and mining sectors.
Robert Loiacono
Director
BEng (Civil Engineering), MIEAust CPEng
Robert is a chartered civil/structural engineer with over 25 years experience in the design of materials handling and oil and gas facilities, with a lead role in the development of projects in Australia, South East Asia and The Middle East. Robert has held a number of senior positions including director, general manager, project manager, study manager, lead engineer in mining and infrastructure sectors.
Chris Grierson

BEng (Hons) (Mechanical Engineering)
Chris is a mechanical engineer with over 15 years experience in the mining, metals, chemicals and waste water treatment industries. Chris positions include director, study manager, engineering manager, maintenance planning, construction supervision, plant area management and design engineer.
